Jenn Sharp Awarded Silver Medal at Taste Canada Awards
We are pleased to announce that Flat Out Delicious: Your Definitive Guide to Saskatchewan’s Food Artisans by Jenn Sharp has won the silver medal in the English-language Culinary Narratives category at the 2021 Taste Canada Awards. The awards were presented virtually on Sunday, November 14, which you can view here.
Sharp is a champion of the Saskatchewan food scene, and her debut book, Flat Out Delicious, is an ode to the friendly faces of the people who craft great food in Saskatchewan. After hearing about her win, Jenn, ever-humble, shared this honour with the people who helped make it possible, “Saskatchewan’s food artisans.” She goes on to say how “[they] are creating everything from economic opportunities and local food security, to sustainable agriculture and delicious, nourishing meals. I’m honoured that more people will hear these stories thanks to Flat Out Delicious being recognized by Taste Canada.”
Continuing her work of showcasing the Saskatchewan food scene, Sharp’s award-winning documentary series, Flat Out Food, inspired by her work on Flat Out Delicious will be releasing a second season in 2022. Hosted by Sharp, the Canadian series focuses on Saskatchewan-grown ingredients and their journey from the field to the plate.
The Taste of Longing by Suzanne Evans (Between the Lines) took home the top prize in the English-language Culinary Narrative category at Sunday’s awards. For more information and to check out the rest of the nominated cookbooks please visit tastecanada.org.
