Eat Alberta First Wins Silver at 2024 Taste Canada Awards
Alberta's Culinary Champion: Karen Anderson's Eat Alberta First Wins Silver at Taste Canada Awards
TouchWood Editions is proud to announce that Eat Alberta First by Karen Anderson has clinched the silver medal in the Regional/Cultural Cookbooks category at the 2024 Taste Canada Awards. This marks Anderson's third nomination and second silver medal, following her previous win for A Spicy Touch, co-authored with Taste Canada Hall of Fame member Noorbanu Nimji.
At the awards ceremony in Toronto, Anderson expressed her gratitude and passion for Alberta's culinary landscape. "Alberta produces so much of the world's food. For those who think of it as just oil, cowboys, and beef, I invite you to come visit!" she exclaimed, highlighting the province's diverse agricultural offerings.
A Culinary Journey Through Alberta's Seasons
Eat Alberta First presents 90 tried and true recipes in celebration of Alberta’s farmers, ranchers, and food artisans. Organized around uniquely Alberta seasons (including “Cabin Fever” and “Harvest Hurry Up”), with mini workshops on sourdough, foraging, and canning, the book is designed to help the home cook build reliance on their skills and on the province’s food producers.
